"Destined to make a difference"

ELDER B.A. HILL
Elder Bertram A. Hill was born on February 19, 1949, at Herman Kiefer Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, to the union of Joseph and Juanita Hill. He was educated in the Highland Park School District and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1967. Shortly after, he served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1970.
Pastor Hill accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in 1970 and became a member of Calvary Hill Primitive Baptist Church in Highland Park, Michigan, under the leadership of the late Pastor James W. Russell. There, he faithfully served as an Usher and, in August 1977, was ordained as a Deacon.
He began working at MichCon Gas in August 1972—the same month he met his future wife, Sandra Johnson. They were united in marriage on August 18, 1973, and together they raised four children.
In 1979, Pastor Hill followed God’s instruction to pursue biblical education and enrolled at William Tyndale Bible College. On February 17, 1983, he accepted his call to preach the gospel. He delivered his first sermon, titled “Jesus Is the Way,” on April 10, 1983. The following year, in August 1984, he was ordained as an Elder in the Primitive Baptist Church.
Pastor Hill also served as a Convention Evangelist, ministering at churches throughout the Chicago River Association. In November 1991, God gave him the vision to start a new ministry. That vision became reality on January 5, 1992, at 5:00 p.m., when Fountain of Life Ministry held its first service.
On October 1, 2017, Fountain of Life Ministry merged with Hale’s Tabernacle P.B.C., giving birth to what is now known as Tabernacle of Life Ministry, where Pastor Hill continues to faithfully serve as Senior Pastor.
